That one time I was asked to be a model

 Hello There,

Today I thought I'd share a fun story about a time I was asked to be a model! In my early days of dressing I was living alone while I attended college and I started dressing fairly regularly toward the end of my tenure in college. Naturally I was posting my pictures online for feedback (and compliments LOL). One of the most interesting messages I ever received was from the account of a member of the adult entertainment industry!

He asked me to model for his website which featured predominantly crossdressers and transwomen. The timing was poor because he messaged me after I had returned home from school and was no longer dressing regularly, so I didn't really know how to take him up on his offer. I politely declined his offer and then he hit me with a major curve ball! He would pay for me to fly to Las Vegas and pay for my hotel, so that he could shoot a "scene or two". I was floored! Here I was some amateur young crossdresser being offered to be flown to Las Vegas to shoot a scene for the adult film industry, what?! It was all actually fairly comical to me, but also very flattering that someone would spend that much money on me! It really hit home to me that maybe I was doing something right with this whole crossdressing thing. Here's a screenshot of our conversation!

I always look back on this conversation and smile, both because I thought it was hilarious that this guy thought he could actually convince me to fly to Vegas alone and that I would shoot pornography for him. LOL no thank you!! Talk about sketchy and unsafe! I also look back and smile because of how flattering it was. I'm beautiful enough to warrant someone paying hundreds of dollars for me to come and make content for many people to enjoy. I must be damn sexy LOL!

Maxi Pads?!

 Hello there,

Now I know what you're thinking after reading the title of this blog post: why on earth would Carly be talking about Maxi Pads? She's a genetic male, who hasn't had sexual reassignment surgery, what use could she possibly have for Maxi Pads? Well despite still having male genitals and therefore having no need for the use of maxi pads, I frequently wear them in my panties! That might seem crazy but let me explain by talking about my first exposures to the idea of wearing Maxi Pads, and why I decided to start wearing them.

My first exposure to Maxi Pad's were my mothers, I was probably like 12 and found them in her bathroom cabinet. I'd been wearing her clothes in secret for several years now and my curiosity had extended to other feminine things like makeup. So I liked to browse her bathroom cabinet for new things to try. That's when I found the Maxi pads, I thought to myself "these are interesting". So I took one out and put them in a pair of panties like they showed on the package. After looking over the packaging more I took note of how frequently they mentioned absorbency and leaks so in my naïve 12 year old mind I thought maxi pads must be purely for urinary leaks, (of course later on I would learn what a period was). Well I slipped the maxi pad and panties on and thought to myself "this is comfortable enough I guess". They weren't really thrilling me like wearing a bra or panties for the first time was. But I thought to myself "these are a practical product maybe I should use them", so I let out a little urine. Just as the package advertised it all was completely absorbed. But again wearing and then "using" this maxi pad really wasn't thrilling me like other feminine things I had tried. So I slipped the panties off and took the pad out, and hid it underneath a lot of garbage in my mother's trash can. Needless to say I really wasn't a fan of maxi pads when I was younger, they weren't exciting or feminine (little did I know that they were perhaps the single most uniquely feminine piece of clothing that I had ever worn).

My second exposure to Maxi Pads came years later, by this time I had discovered the crossdresser community online and had begun to learn so much about the joys of presenting as a woman. I have mentioned before about what an influence the no longer available lisagirl.net had on me during my formative crossdressing years. But while we're discussing maxi pads, it was actually on Lisa's site where my second exposure to maxi pads came. Lisa had several articles discussing how she had developed a habit of wearing sanitary pads in her panties. At the time I thought to myself "not those weird pad things I tried on years ago, I'll take most of your advice Lisa, but not that one". I probably shouldn't have been such a stick in the mud about it and realized that if my crossdresser idol Lisa was regularly wearing these pads and writing whole articles detailing shopping trips to buy pads, that there was probably something to what she was saying.

This brings us to the modern day, I was browsing my flickr feed when I noticed that one of the crossdressers I followed was wearing a maxi pad in her panties (shout out to Kira Sydney, check out her photos, they're awesome!). This reminded me of my first experience and all those blog posts Lisa had made talking about how great wearing pads was. So I did some research online and I found a number of people who wore pads in their panties, crossdressing, genderfluid, and transgender people alike. I realized "wow, this is something far more people are doing than I realized, and they're coming from all walks of life, maybe there's something to this". In my New Year's Resolution post I mentioned I was interested in trying women's healthcare products, so I decided to finally give them a try again. After a little research I went with Always Maxi Feminine Pad: Size 5 Extra Heavy Overnight. I chose these because Always was one of the the main brand names for feminine hygiene pads, and I chose the size because I wanted the full experience, something I would feel in my panties and would not get lost in them (also they were a cute purple color which helped). After picking up a pack in Walmart, I got home, put them in a pair of my panties, and found that maybe there was something to this whole maxi pad thing.

So what exactly have I come to enjoy about wearing Maxi Pads? Well they're both functional and kinda fun! When it comes to function, they have a couple different handy uses. Firstly they help provide support for tucking, and help to smooth out the front of your crotch. Their second functional use comes from their absorbency, they help keep your panties clean and dry from sweat, or urine which is handy. While these functional uses might be enough to convince some, I'm here to tell you that wearing maxi pads is actually pretty fun. For those of us girls out there that derive joy out of feeling overtly feminine, wearing a maxi pad is one of the most uniquely feminine things you can do. For those of us born as genetic males, but like to present as women, one of the only things we will never get to experience is what it's like to have a period (and child birth I guess LOL). So for those of us looking to create the most authentic feminine experience possible, wearing a pad is about the closest we'll ever get.

Let me tell you, when I bought that pack of pads at Walmart and then tried on my first pad since I was a little kid, I was blown away, I totally felt more feminine! They are pretty comfortable and you honestly can forget they're in there. Additionally they come in smaller and thinner sizes, so if you wanted something you wouldn't notice at all, the options are there for you. Furthermore, if you're someone who enjoys feeling authentically feminine and strives to best emulate genetic women, you could choose to only wear them 4 or so days out of the month to simulate a period. Me on the other hand, I've just come to enjoy wearing them too much to limit myself to only a few days a month, so whenever I'm in the mood for feeling extra feminine it's safe to say that my panties have a maxi pad in them!

Disney Princess Instagram Influencers Pt. 2

 Hello There,

I'm back again with some more Disney Princess Influencers from Instagram! Like I mentioned in my last post on Instagram Influencers, there are so many different influencers online who specialize in Disney Princesses, so I'm back again with three more influencers to share! The theme of the day is unique dresses! Each of these influencers brings a unique spin to Disney Princess dresses that are fun and inventive!

Chelsey Gentry

Our first influencer is Chelsey Gentry who goes by the Instagram tag of @chelsey_gentry. Chelsey is a clothing designer who with the help of her mother designs and creates amazing princess cosplays. Chelsey is a master of designing totally unique dresses for all of Disney's princesses, the likes of which you almost never see. What first drew me to following Chelsey's instagram page was her massive princess ball gowns, with an incredible scallop shape at the bottom. Just check out these incredible dresses!

Wow, weren't those unique and beautiful?! Another unique dress series Chelsey created are reimaginings of princess wedding dresses. While some characters have wedding dresses in their respective movies, Chelsey went ahead and designed totally new versions to wear!

Y'all know how much I love over the top wedding dresses so to me these dresses are just to die for! So obviously Chelsey is a master of designing new dresses for classic Disney princesses, but she also makes exceptional versions of the classic dress designs!

The last dress I want to highlight from Chelsey deviates from our princess topic a little bit, but it's still technically a Disney character. Chelsey designed a cosplay of the Scarlett Witch; where instead of her traditional super hero costume she is sporting a gown. As a lover of both Scarlet Witch and gowns, I just had to share it with you!

Lily on the Moon

Our next Instagram princess influencer is Lily on the Moon who goes by the instagram handle: @lily_on_the_moon. Lily is a French cosplayer who has claimed to have made over a hundred costumes! Thankfully she has a special place in her heart for Disney characters so there's no shortage of princesses to go around. Why I'm highlighting Lily today is that she has made cosplays for many of the uncommonly seen princess outfits. From nightgowns to wedding dresses Lily has done a great job bringing lesser known outfits to life! We'll start with Anna who has no shortage of unique outfits!

Next we've got Cinderella and Ariel, who both wore more than just the Blue and Pink that we're used to! Although I suppose here they've actually found themselves wearing the other princesses colors!

What I'd like to highlight last about Lily is that she may be the single best Rapunzel cosplayer I've ever seen. She has many different versions of her dresses and she always seems to capture that youthful joy and optimism that Rapunzel is known for!

mandy.gleamnglow

Our last instagram princess influencer is Mandy who goes by @mandy.gleamnglow on instagram. Mandy is the director of the Ever After Events Princess Parties Company and has a whole cast of princesses she brings to parties. I discovered Mandy by a series of fun videos where she demonstartes how to change your voice in order to sound like a princess. She has videos for Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, and Elsa.

One last thing I'll highlight from Mandy is this awesome photoshoot she did as Ariel while pregnant. Pregnancy can be a difficult time for cosplayers but Mandy made the best of it by being unique and enjoying some princess fun!
