My love of Pink!

 Hello There,

What's your favorite color? A classic icebreaker question for both kids and adults. Well 90% of the time if you asked me that question my answer would be black. It's slimming and goes with everything. But to those lucky few that know about my girly half I give a very different answer: pink!! But why pink you might ask, well let me enlighten you.

Traditionally the color blue is associated with the male gender and pink with the female gender. Although women have no problem wearing blue regularly, pink is not often a color that frequents many men's wardrobes. In fact the phrase "real men wear pink" had to be created just to ease the minds of many men who are too afraid of the taboo associated with the color pink. Despite that phrase pink is a color that still has extremely close ties to femininity. Heck there's a whole women's clothing store named after the color. So even with efforts to make it more acceptable to be incorporated into men's lives, pink remains a largely stereotypically feminine color.

My reasons for loving pink are just that simple, pink is the single most closely associated color to femininity; I love femininity, so I love pink. When I was growing up as a little boy, pink was always the forbidden fruit, the color I wanted to try but never could. Naturally when I first started trying on women's clothes I gravitated towards pink. When I was sneaking in to try my mom's clothes on, I always started with a pink bra and panties. When I could first start buying myself home goods, I bought pink towels and pink sheets. When I look for new clothes to buy in stores, my eyes are always drawn to the pink items. I seem to incorporate pink into every aspect of of the feminine half of my life. It encapsulates and embodies femininity and as someone who at times wants to feel very feminine I can never go wrong with pink!
