Hello There,
In my opinion sleepwear is by far one of the most underappreciated and overlooked styles of women's clothing. They're cute, comfortable, and functional all wrapped up into one, and yet it seems like no one talks about them. Additionally for those of us that are still in the closet and therefore don't have many opportunities to dress, sleeping in women's sleepwear can be a great opportunity to spend up to 8 hours of your day in women's clothing. Like all types of womenswear, sleepwear comes in a wide variety of types and styles: Pajamas, Nightgowns, Negligees, and sleepshirts to name a few. Women's sleepwear also provides the opportunity to wear clothes made of materials your average item of women's clothing is not made of like nylon and satin. Today I wanted to touch on my two favorite types of women's sleepwear: Nightgowns and Pajamas.
Nightgowns
Starting with my favorite of the two, Nightgowns! I tend to prefer women's nightgowns over other things like pajamas, even though nightgowns have largely fallen out of fashion. I prefer them because they make me feel inherently more feminine, due to the lack of pants LOL! I'd say the only problem with wearing a nightgown is that all the loose extra fabric makes rolling over in bed a little difficult sometimes. To help fix that I sleep in satin sheets, that way I can roll around freely and the fabric of my nightgown does not get caught on my sheets. Nightgowns have a massive amount of different styles, from short and sexy to long and elegant, giving you tons of options as to how you want to express yourself at night.
There are some extra accessories to include with women's sleepwear that can make your night sleeping as a beauty all the more fun:
- Panties (obviously): Choosing a comfortable pair of panties to wear under your nightwear is a total must! Just make sure you choose a style and material that is going to be comfortable to sleep in.
- Bras: Bras can also be fun to wear under sleepwear when worn correctly. If you're going to sleep in a bra, make sure it's very comfortable like a wirefree bra or a bralette, otherwise with a wired bra you'll be uncomfortable all night. But once you get the sizing and style right sleeping in a bra lets you sleep with simulated feminine curves and a bra hugging your chest.
- Socks: If you're a girl like me your feet get very cold at night, so socks are a must. Unless your feet are a massive size you should be able to squeeze into women's socks, which come in so many cute styles and colors.
- Pantyhose: Pantyhose can help keep you warm on cold nights. I tend to toss and turn in my sleep, this makes sleeping in pantyhose really fun because I get to unintentionally rub pantyhose clad legs together all night.
- Feminine sheets: I sleep in pink satin sheets, which are oh so soft and comfortable! Having feminine sheets help to girlify your room and make you feel as though you are sleeping like a princess.
